Covid Heightened Awareness and Policies
Sigma Swimming
COVID HEIGHTENED AWARENESS We continue to work hard at keeping our pools Covid-free. Below are some revised guidelines:
- As always, please continue to follow the guidelines for your location's Safety Plan.
- Do NOT arrive more than 10 minutes early for your scheduled practice/lesson. This prevents overcrowding and minimizes unnecessary gatherings.
- MASKS ON when not in the water.
- A swimmer or employee's ability to return to the pool will depend on which of the following scenarios apply to them:
- If a swimmer or employee thinks or knows they had COVID-19 (i.e., Tested positive for COVID-19) AND had symptoms, the following criteria must be met:
- At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared, AND
- At least 24 hours with no fever without fever-reducing medicine, AND
- Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving
- If a swimmer or employee tested positive for COVID-19, but had no symptoms, the following criteria must be met:
- At least 10 days have passed without symptoms since the date of their positive test.
- If symptoms develop AFTER testing positive, follow the guidance from above for, "If a swimmer or employee thinks or knows they had COVID-19."
- If a swimmer or employee was in close contact with someone with COVID-19, the following criteria must be met:
- A quarantine of at least 14 days from the time of close contact. Close contact is now defined as an individual who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to test specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.
- If symptoms develop, the student or employee must be tested and follow the guidance above.
- If a swimmer or employee thinks or knows they had COVID-19 (i.e., Tested positive for COVID-19) AND had symptoms, the following criteria must be met:
- Special circumstance per CDC recommendations:
- If a swimmer or employee has been exposed but has tested negative, then he/she must quarantine for a minimum of 7 days from the date of the negative test.
- If a swimmer or employee has been exposed but has tested negative, then he/she must quarantine for a minimum of 7 days from the date of the negative test.
- General ways to help:
- Common sense.
- Consideration of others.
- Self-monitoring for symptoms.
- Being aware of people who have tested positive in your social and event circles.
- Choosing to self-isolate for 10-14 days in the event that you or your child may have been exposed but are not yet exhibiting symptoms.
- Choosing to get tested during your self-isolation.
- Returning only after a negative test and medical doctor's clearance.
We understand that everyone's opinions vary greatly on the matter of masks and Covid. We continue to be thankful that you have chosen to support Sigma by working with us to do what is necessary to keep swimming, our staff employed, and our business operating.
